“The Kirkland Ave. Project is a series of public art events, workshops, performances, and murals designed to bring people together to make art, think creatively, and build community in an alternative public space. 

This project is proudly presented by storefrontART, a program of the Commonwealth Center for Change (C3), in partnership with the Northampton Center for the Arts.”

This was a mural developed to involve local communities in a collaborative realization of a large scale project, illuminating an otherwise neglected space. Additionally, the imagery was borrowed and interpreted from the legacy of Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman (currently based in Northampton, Ma), and their development of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Comics.
